New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Egypt Central Official Website) The polls have closed for Rockwired.Com's recent Artist of the Month campaign. Voters from all over the U.S. made their vote count and the band EGYPT CENTRAL walked away the winner. The Memphis-based rockers first hit the scene back in 2008 with the release of their self-titled debut CD produced by Josh Abraham. On the strength of the singles, You Make Me Sick and Taking You Down, the band's debut charted respectably on Billboard's Independent Album Charts. In 2010, the band completed work on their second studio album White Rabbit - a delectable slice of post grunge bombast artfully produced by Skid Mills.

Other nominees for Artist of the Month included Sexstone, Revel 9, Simplified, Against All Will, Mark Anderson and Razer. The victory for Egypt Central was a close one with Back From Ashes coming in second by only 10% of the vote. Mark Anderson, Sexstone and Razer were curiously tied in third.

ROCKWIRED.COM will be launching its latest Artist of the Month campaign on July 1, 2011. Nominees for this latest wave include Nake Nula Waun, Jon Mullane, Back From Ashes, Marilyn Mcleod, Teddy Presberg, March Into Paris and Dansewolf. Polling is provided by Micropoll and is as simple as making a selection and clicking 'vote'.

While there is no trophy or huge payday for being an Artist of the Month winner, the benefits that come along with the title include expanded coverage and promotion. An Artist of the Month winner is awarded a month's worth of free site-wide advertising on Rockwired.Com. A 60-second commercial spot promoting the winner and their album will be featured during every edition of Rockwired Radio Profiles for an entire month. The winner is also featured in a special edition of Rockwired Radio Profiles. Banners are also given to the winners to further promote their Artist of the Month status on their own website or press packets. Lastly, winners are mentioned on all Rockwired-related announcements/press materials.

"There are times when you've just got to rock out to something and I think the band Egypt Central have given people a good album to rock out to." says Rockwired founder Brian Lush. "We had a lot of fantastic rock bands who were nominated and you want to see all of them win but Egypt Central is a fantastic pick and I can see great things from these guys."
