Indie Rock Band, Cutting Edge Continues To Make Chart History With Two Songs Inside Top 20 Of Billboard Hot Single Sales Charts
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Cutting Edge official website) On July 7, 2011, the indie band, Cutting Edge made Billboard Chart History by having two songs make their debut inside the top 20 of the Billboard Hot Single Sales Charts. The ballad, "Without You" entered the chart at No 17 and the rock song, "If The Walls Could Talk" entered the same chart at No 20. According to a representative from Billboard Magazine, they do not know of any other indie band to have two songs debut inside the top 20 of the chart during the same week, making Cutting Edge the first indie band in history to do so. What is more remarkable is that after four weeks of charting, both songs continue their strong showing on the chart. As of July 28, 2011, "Without You" has moved up to No 11 and "If The Walls Could Talk" is sitting at No 17. The only other recording artist to have two songs on the Billboard Hot Single Sales Chart is Lady Gaga, who is signed to Interscope, a major label.

According the Medaibase, a company that monitors radio airplay in the top U.S. markets, , Cutting Edge is still going strong as the song "Without You" received over 3,200 spins at radio during the week of July 21 and "If The Walls Could Talk" received over 1,100 spins. Further, "Without You" spent two weeks at No 1 on the Online Radio Breakout Charts during the month of July, while "If The Walls Could Talk" peaked at No 8.

The most remarkable fact with the success that Cutting Edge has had in the month of July is that the band does not have a manager, a public relations firm or a booking agent and are signed to Thunder Quest Records; a record label they formed for their band. Lead vocalist David Pesnell did state" that the band is looking for a booking agency to help put together a concert tour in the Spring of 2012 and is also open to having discussion regarding bringing on a manager". Cutting Edge is releasing a new album at the beginning of September called "Cutting Edge Goes Back To College", with the album being released that week to over 600 colleges in the U.S. In the past, Cutting Edge has charted several other songs including "Love Police" and "Every Time I Try". The band's myspace site is currently averaging over 7,000 hits a day.

Cutting Edge was founded by David Pesnell, Liza Pesnell and William Zimmerman.
