Foul Play Releases New Song: 'What Would Confederate Jesus Do' A Tribute To Medical Marijuana And The South
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ Foul Play Official Website) "What Would Confederate Jesus Do?" is the title of the newest musical release by L.A. based rock band, Foul Play. https://www.FoulPlay.com

The first-of-its-kind protest song, based on a true story, describes one Southern man's struggle to defy the orders of the Federal Government regarding the cultivation of his own personal strain of medical marijuana, named "Confederate Jesus." https://www.ConfederateJesus.com

When asked about the inspiration for co-writing and singing "What Would Confederate Jesus Do?", band front-man Sam Aidun replied, "When I sing it, it invokes safety from worry, rebellious ideas, self-respect and pride for all people to all regions. Though I do not encourage or discourage the use of marijuana, I do promote having the guts to stand up against the moral pressures and ulterior motives of unjust laws and tyrannical governments."

When questioned about the name of the strand and the song, Sam stated: "The word 'Confederate' was employed by the strain creator because it was bred in the South, by a Southerner, who first germinated the strand from Dixie cups. The second part of the Confederate Jesus name is a reference to the Lord Almighty himself. It was added because of the spiritual devoutness held by the rebellious Southern herbalist. These two names were combined to form a perfect description of how the strain came into existence."

And when asked about his connection to the South, Sam Aidun quickly retorted, "Being an Iranian who grew up in a tiny farming village in Upstate NY, I was drawn to the Dukes of Hazard as a kid. Since then, I've always had an attraction towards girls in daisy-dukes, American muscle cars, basset hounds, Uncles named Jesse, and of course, the Confederate flag. Though I'm not natively from the South, I am and will always remain a Rebel and I'm proud that I can showcase that through this song for people of all regions to hear."

Foul Play's music features a blunt, tough, and sincere interpretation of life's absurdities and consists of 3 virtuoso musicians: Eric Hargett, bass, saxophone and keys; Bill Learned, lead guitar and backing vocals; and Curtis Cunningham on drums; with Sam doing rhythm guitar and vocals.

Foul Play is based in LA and can be found rocking clubs big and small, in and around Hollywood.
