New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Walt Disney Records) It's time to raise the curtain on the most sensational video collaboration! From the musical tribute, Muppets: The Green Album, OK Go and The Muppets team up for a music video for the "Muppet Show Theme Song." The clip will premiere exclusively on VEVO, VEVO Mobile and VEVO on YouTube at 8:00 a.m. EST on August 23rd.

The song, written by Jim Henson and Sam Pottle, opened and closed "The Muppet Show" for five seasons in the UK and US, from 1976-1981. The new track was produced by OK Go and mixed by Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, MGMT). Says singer Damian Kulash, "I'm so excited about working with the Muppets that I can hardly sleep. Collaborating with your idols is a huge thrill no matter what, but when your idols are fictional characters it seems downright impossible. The 10-year-old me was pretty good at imagining outrageous futures, but this surpasses even his capacities."

Kermit the Frog adds, "The Muppets have performed this song lots of times, but not like this. OK Go never does anything the way you'd expect it. Damian, Tim, Dan and Andy like to mix things up and get a little loopy. I think they were Muppets in a previous lifetime."

The music video was directed by Kirk Thatcher, who previously directed two Webby award-winning videos for the Muppets, "Ode to Joy" (over 15 million YouTube views) and "Muppet Bohemian Rhapsody" (over 21 million YouTube views). It celebrates a burgeoning Muppet extravaganza this year, which culminates in the November release of the Muppets' seventh full-length feature film, Disney's "The Muppets."

OK Go (Damian Kulash, Tim Nordwind, Dan Konopka and Andy Ross) has been called the most downloaded band ever, with over 200 million streams on YouTube alone. They've won numerous honors, including a GRAMMY for "Here It Goes Again" (a.k.a. "the treadmill video"), a 2010 Webby "Special Achievement Award" recognizing the band as "Film & Video Artist of the Year" and two UK Music Video Awards for "This Too Shall Pass (Rube Goldberg Machine version)." The latter, which featured a Rube Goldberg machine created by OK Go and Syyn Labs engineers, is the #1 Top Rated (All Time) music video on YouTube. In 2010, OK Go founded their own record label, Paracadute.

For more than 55 years, the Muppets have entertained film and television audiences with their blend of heart and humor. The creation of the late visionary, Jim Henson, the Muppets are among the world's most recognized and beloved characters, led by the world's most famous amphibian, Kermit the Frog. Since The Muppets Studio joined The Walt Disney Company in 2004, the Muppets have starred in a series of award-winning viral music videos, multiple television specials, attractions and appearances at Disney Parks, and have an array of Muppets merchandise.

VEVO is the world's leading all-premium music video and entertainment platform with offices in New York, London, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit and San Francisco.

VEVO is available in the United States, Canada and United Kingdom, which includes VEVO.com, Mobile Apps (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Android, Windows Phone 7, RIM Playbook), Connected Television (Google TV, Boxee) and user embeddable video players. VEVO powers music videos on artist pages across Facebook, as well as syndicates to dozens of online sites, including AOL, BET, CBS Interactive Music Group (including Last.fm and MP3.com, Fuse.tv and Univision. Additionally, through a special partnership with YouTube, VEVO is accessible in over 200 countries, expanding the platform's reach around the globe. Ranked by comScore as the #1 Music platform on the web, VEVO was named by Billboard as one of the top startups of 2010 and received the prestigious Advertising Age Media Vanguard Award for Online Video Platform Launch of the Year. Turning online music programming on its heels just one year into launch, VEVO's "meteoric rise" (Mediapost) has been applauded by the Associated Press as a "striking example of the music video's dramatic comeback" while its mobile launch was called "stellar" by Mashable.

On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan, his brother Gary (Jason Segel) and Gary's girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets' former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate. With secret, signature, celebrity cameos, Disney's "The Muppets" hits the big screen Nov. 23, 2011.

Muppets: The Green Album will be available wherever music is sold on August 23, 2011. Fans can stream the entire album beginning August 15 as part of NPR Music's Exclusive First Listen series.
