'The musical storytelling of Christopher Paul Stelling embodies a long road
full of lush folkloric, mythological and religious imagery.' - WNYC
'...we'll be hearing about this soul-tugging troubadour for some time to come.' - My Old Kentucky Blog
Christopher Paul Stelling has had a busy month. The Brooklyn-based troubadour ventured down to Louisville, where he recorded his debut album at Funeral Home Studios with Kevin Ratterman (Wax Fang), who recently worked on My Morning Jacket's new album, Circuital. Keep an eye out for more news on the release of the album coming soon. In the meantime, Stelling has a couple great shows coming up- don't hesitate to reach out with any list requests!
Tonight, he opens for acclaimed songwriter & producer David Vandervelde at Mercury Lounge, and this Saturday he'll be performing at Brooklyn Bowl, as part of Daytrotter's Barnstormer tour, along with The Loom, Des Ark, JBM, Guards, We Are Augustines and Doug Paisley! We're also thrilled to announce that Stelling will be supporting Marissa Nadler and James Vincent McMorrow at Bowery Ballroom on Friday, September 9th.
Stelling has become known for his impassioned live performances- his songwriting reaches deep, tugging emotional heartstrings while conjuring up imagery from religion, mythology and folklore. Stelling's songs evoke everything from delicate fragility to blistering ferocity, leaving audiences in disbelief. Building his fanbase around this principle, people know that if they're going to see him they're in for a special, intimate show every single time.
