New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) The Horrible Crowes' name is inspired by a centuries-old Scottish poem in which two birds prepare to feast on a freshly slain knight, but this new band fronted by The Gaslight Anthem1s Brian Fallon and longtime friend Ian Perkins, stands tall on the charts this week. Their debut album 'Elsie' (SideOneDummy) opened at No 6 on the Billboard Indie Chart. It also opened at No 2 on iTunes' Rock Chart last week.
This news follows a sold-out show at NYC's Bowery Ballroom last week that Billboard.com hailed as "powerful and passionate." The Horrible Crowes make their LA debut tonight with another sold-out show at the Troubadour.
One of our favorite moments from last week's Bowery show was THC's unexpected - and unexpectedly heartfelt - cover of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream."
