UK Composer Marvin Ayres Celebrates New Release 'Harmogram Suite'
London, UK (Top40 Charts/ Glass Onyon PR) 'Harmogram Suite' the major new work from composer, cellist, pianist and violinist Marvin Ayres is to be released on November 14, 2011 on the UK independent 'Burning Shed'. He will be performing Oct 1st 2011 at the Curve in Norwich UK as part of their 'Sound and Vision' Festival.

With 'Harmogram Suite' Marvin takes his listeners on a hugely emotional and dramatic journey in a musical piece written in six movements.

The groundbreaking conceptual work has been recorded as an orchestral suite in surround sound and for a limited time will be a CD/DVD release.

Harmogram is a hybrid term that Marvin has used to describe his mix of harmonics and harmony with hologram. His initial idea for the piece was that the 'delivery' of sound (i.e. Surround Sound, 3D audio, etc) now seems to be almost as important as the 'musical' content and instrumentation involved.

The result is a unique, modern classical musical sound composition
"Like some of Eno's best work, the atmospheres Ayres creates are also compelling pieces of music that can dominate and transport." - All About Jazz.

Ayres has recently collaborated with Martyn Ware (Heaven 17/Human League) on 3D Sound Installations and on the new B.E.F. album 'Dark'. They are also currently co-writing a joint album for release next year.

In the last few months Marvin has added his string performances/ production to the forthcoming charity album 'Sex, Drugs and H.I.V' for Adam Ant/Bowie and Jimmy Pursey, and will feature in the 'all star' live concert in December 2011.

Marvin Ayres has composed and recorded a diverse selection of minimalist albums, incorporating spatial soundscapes and psycho acoustics and 5.1 Surround Sound . He has also produced and recorded a number of film soundtracks and collaborated with many visual artists on A/V installations in major international galleries including the ICA, Tate Modern and National Portrait Gallery (July 2011)

Signed to the avant-garde label Mille Plateaux in the late '90s as composer/producer, Ayres released two minimalist albums 'Cellosphere' and 'Neptune' to critical acclaim. Excerpts of these works have been performed live in an array of forums such as London's 'Festival of Electonica,' (with Groove Armada's Patrick Dawes).

Ayres is commissioned by Einsturzende Neubauten's electronica music publishers Freibank.
'A serious and thoughtful composer" - The Wire
Ayres has also made solo contributions to bands and artists, notably, Culture Club, Simply Red and Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

His ongoing project with Sonja Kristina (Curved Air) is called MASK and their second album 'Technopia', produced by Marvin was released on r.a.r.e/ Repertoire records in 2010.
