BURBANK, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Warner Bros. Records) Future History, the highly anticipated second album from red-hot multi-platinum singer and songwriter Jason Derulo, is released today,
September 27th, on Beluga Heights/Warner Bros. Records.
To celebrate its release, the Miami native will perform today at Jet Blue's "Live from T5 Concert" from 3 to 5 p.m. at John F. Kennedy Airport, followed by an album-release party at Darby, 244 West 14th Street, at 9 p.m. This week, Derulo will make appearances on Live! With Regis and Kelly on Thursday, September 29th, and on The Wendy Williams Show on Friday, September 30th.
Future History finds Derulo moving seamlessly from ultra-sexy urban dance tracks to Pop-y love songs, offering up as he did on his self-titled debut, a unique genre-blurring blend of varied sounds deeply rooted in pop. Production is handled by The Fliptones, including the first single and instant summer anthem "Don't Wanna Go Home," as well as by hitmakers J.R. Rotem, Frank E, The Dream, and Eman.
Future History includes Derulo's two current singles, "Don't Wanna Go Home," which spent five consecutive weeks in the Top 10 at Pop radio, and "It Girl," which is enjoying a swift ride into the Top 20 and beyond with the support of every Top 40 station in the U.S. The video for "It Girl," which features actress Tika Sumpter (Gossip Girl, The Game), racked up 700K views in seven days and has amassed more than seven million views, while "Don't Wanna Go Home" has earned nearly 40 million views. Derulo has streamed more than 428 million views on his YouTube Channel, which is in the Top 100 All-Time Most Viewed channels. He is also one of the Top 40 Most Viewed Musicians of all time.

Derulo established himself as a pop sensation with a string of red-hot hits last year: "Whatcha Say" (which spent four consecutive weeks atop the Pop chart and has sold 3.5 million copies), "In My Head" (2.7 million sold), and "Ridin' Solo" (2.6 million sold) off his self-titled debut album, Jason Derulo. Derulo, who has sold more than 15 million singles and 850,000 albums worldwide, is the first male solo artist to score consecutive No. 1's on Billboard's Pop Songs radio airplay chart in the chart's 17-year-history with his first two entries. Derulo won five awards at the 2011 BMI Pop Awards including "Songwriter of the Year," which he shared with Lady Gaga and his debut album's producer JR Rotem.
