Musician Seth Glier Launches "Food For Thought" Tour
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ MPress Records) Singer-songwriter & altruist Seth Glier will hit the road this fall for his Food for Thought Tour. Joining forces with the nations leading domestic hunger relief charity, Feeding America and leaders in organic energy nutrition and food purveyor CLIF Bar, Glier will embark on a 15-date headlining tour, where each show will act as a food drive for each city's food bank. Kicking off the tour with an appearance on FOX TV's Good Day Maine early November 3rd and performing at One Longfellow Square (Portland, MA) that same evening.

As Thanksgiving approaches, Glier will be traveling throughout the North East encouraging fans and concertgoers to bring non-perishable items to the shows for their city's food bank. A Feeding America representative will be set up at the venue to collect donations. CLIF Bar has donated product for Glier to share with fans and to donate in each city. "Hunger is a reality for 1 in 6 Americans, that's just a fact, I'm always willing to use my voice to help make a difference" says Glier.

Since the release of his first album The Trouble With People (MPress) in 2009, Glier has made it part of his mission to raise awareness and inspire people through his music. He has participated in a green tour initiative, worked with the Coats For Kids Foundation, teamed up with Musicians On Call to visit hospitals and perform at charity benefits and most recently contributed music to the New Arrivals Vol. 4: Artists Against Youth Homelessness (MPress 2011) charity compilation CD, benefitting The National Network for Youth.

While combining his passion for music and desire to help those in need, Glier has continued to turn heads in the industry. This year, coming off of the release of his sophomore album The Next Right Thing (MPress 2011), Glier was awarded an Independent Music Award, premiered the music video for his single "Walk Katie Home" on USA Today, and spent the summer touring with the likes of Edwin McCain, Ani Difranco, Toad the Wet Sprocket and Martin Sexton.

About Seth Glier:
"The greatest pop songwriting since Billy Joel." - Livingston Taylor
Seth Glier will grab you...if not with his powerful falsetto or his melodic prowess, then with what Performer Magazine calls his "intoxicating groove." The 22-year-old singer, pianist and guitarist - who abandoned studies at The Berklee College of Music after one year because he "decided I should be playing for people and not for grades" - aims straight for the gut & has quickly established himself on the national scene performing over 250 shows a year.

In 2010, Glier shared stages with such diverse artists as James Taylor, Mark Knopfler, The Verve Pipe, and Edwin McCain. He has appeared as a mainstage artist at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival (NY) and the Kerrville Folk Festival (TX). USA Today recently compared Seth to Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel and recommended his track "Lauralee" on their "Listen Up Playlist" (Feb 2011).

The only musical member of his family, Seth was raised on the music of Joni Mitchell, Martin Sexton and Randy Newman, but considers his brother to be his greatest influence. "My brother is autistic and non-verbal. I learned to communicate with words better once I realized how to communicate to someone without them." Maybe the term 'old soul' has meaning after all…
