Dubspot Workshop Series Presents RJD2: Live Streaming Workshop On October 11, 2011
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Plexi PR) The famed DJ/producer RJD2 will be visiting Dubspot on Tuesday, October 11th to host another installment of The Dubspot Workshop Series. As always, the workshop will be streaming live on the Dubspot Blog beginning at 2pm EDT. To attend in person, please RSVP as space is extremely limited.

Check out the RJD2 live stream here on the Dubspot Blog.

RJD2 will be hosting a workshop focused on the process of music creation through beat slicing, sampling, and recording as demonstrated on his production tools of choice -- MPC samplers and Pro Tools. Drawing together these essential techniques, instruments and software, he will discuss his creative workflow along with his sampling selection process.

RJD2 is a name of fame in the underground hip hop world. Ramble John (RJ) Krohn has produced numerous singles and albums for the Def Jux label, including two solo albums of critical acclaim: 2002's Deadringer and 2004's Since We Last Spoke. More recently RJD2 has released solo albums with XL Recordings in the UK and more recently on his own label, RJ's Electrical Connections. Krohn gained much critical acclaim in 2007 when AMC licensed his track, "A Beautiful Mine," to be the theme song during the opening credits of Mad Men. RJD2 has evolved past the days of being called "the new DJ Shadow" and has emerged as one of North America's premiere creators of instrumental hip hop and sample based music.

Along with his Dubspot workshop, RJD2 is launching a new album on the same day. The release, titled The Abandoned Lullaby, was produced along with Aaron Livingston under their Icebird moniker. Celebrating the release, Icebird will also be performing at Brooklyn Bowl the very same evening, Tuesday, October 11th.
