CHICAGO (Top40 Charts / Wexford Institute) Anthony Kearns, founding member of The Irish Tenors, will sing a concert accompanied by Patrick Healy on piano, highlighting the music of his homeland, popular Broadway favorites, and time honored classics. Wexford
Institute and the Irish American Heritage Center (IAHC) are sponsoring their appearance at the IAHC on October 15 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are still available at Wexford.org and Irish-American.org.
Kearns was interviewed on WTTW
Chicago Tonight last week and talked about his life, his career, and his work with Wexford
Institute to help children with autism. Don't miss seeing his captivating interview.
A Kearns solo concert is a radiant evening of high humor, dazzling vocals, and spectacular piano. Filled with the music the world loves to hear sung with a stunning flawlessness, Kearns tours the world several times annually in solo performances and on opera stages.
This
Chicago concert is a part of the on-going Wexford Tour to bring awareness to autism education and important resources to parents and educators. The Wexford Tour has been a successful collaboration, as the first four concerts have helped Wexford
Institute provide its autism resources free of charge to the public online, in English and Spanish. Since launching the resources in April 2011, they have been accessed by individuals across the U.S. and in 11 other countries. For free access to these resources visit the Wexford Autism Center.
The tour also celebrates the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy's presidency, through the coincidence of Kearns' Wexford birth, President Kennedy's family roots in Wexford soil, and the Wexford Institute. The tour will continue in
Spring 2012 across the U.S. and into Ireland.
Kearns still tours with The Irish Tenors, an eternally exciting and long-enduring brand that burst upon the scene via PBS over a decade ago, and is still going strong. The Irish Tenors' performances are always packed to bursting with appreciative fans; they hit the road in December for a full month of uplifting, entertaining, and fun Christmas concerts.
