The Handcuffs Celebrate Halloween At Reggies Rock Club Monday, October 31st With The Stranglers' Hugh Cornwell And Dead Superheroes Orchestra

New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Green Light Go Entertainment) The Handcuffs will celebrate Halloween the punk rock way, at Reggies Rock Club on October 31st opening for The Stranglers' Hugh Cornwell. Cornwell's band also includes Rock & Roll Hall of Fame drummer Clem Burke who will sit in with The Handcuffs on a song during their set, too.

When you see The Handcuffs live, you're not only getting a balls-out, tight sexy, rock show, you'll also get to see front-woman Chloe F. Orwell's famously awesome boot collection as well as drummer Brad Elvis's astounding skills behind the kit. The two, who describe their partnership as, "Two musical rebels handcuffed together through thick and thin" sound like "T-Rex and the Ting Tings straddling Goldfrapp". The duo, now a quintet, featuring Emily Togni, a Tennessee-by-way-of-Arkansas native, Chicagoan Ellis Clark on guitar and former New Jersey girl Alison Hinderliter on keyboards, The Dead Superheroes Orchestra and Happy Hunting will join them.

The Handcuffs have shared the stage with Blondie, Eleni Mandell, Ike Reilly Assassination, Mucca Pazza and Chamber Strings, The Coral, Evan Dando (Lemonheads), Joan Jett, Robbie Fulks, and Glenn Tilbrook (Squeeze) on their tours of the U.S., winning the hearts of fans with their dynamic live shows. They have played CMJ, and their songs have been featured on The Margaret Cho Show, The Hills, Laguna Beach, Celebrity Rehab, and the Sundance and SXSW award winning documentary The Education of Shelby Knox, to name just a few.

Prolific writers and producers, The Handcuffs have officially released two albums, recorded with Mike Hagler (Wilco, the Pulsars, Neko Case, the Mekons) at Kingsize Sound Laboratories in Chicago, with the third, Waiting for the Robot, scheduled for release on Sept. 6, 2011. The first two albums received praise from the likes of Jim DeRogatis, who calls Orwell "sultry" and Elvis "irrepressible" as well as airplay on dozens of college, commercial, satellite and Internet radio stations throughout the world including KROQ.

The Handcuffs evolved from Elvis and Orwell's desire to explore a broad sonic territory while still believing in the power of a great radio hook. Their songs are fresh yet timeless, edgy yet accessible, skillfully crafted yet easily memorable. Their influences range from Bowie to Bacharach, P.J. Harvey to the Pixies, White Album to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs with some Ting Tings, T-Rex and Sparks tossed in for good measure.
