Lakeshore Records To Release In Time Soundtrack Album Features Original Music By Craig Armstrong
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ CineMedia Promotions) Lakeshore Records will release the In Time - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, available digitally on October 25th and in stores on November 29, 2011. The original music was composed by Craig Armstrong (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge, Ray).

"When I first had meetings with the director Andrew Niccol," said Armstrong, "we both got excited about what kind of music people would be listening to in the not too distant future - within the time that Andrew's film is set. We both agreed that various music strands in the future would merge (i.e classical with eastern music, world music and electronic music)."

Craig Armstrong's music is as varied as it is successful. Born in 1959 in Glasgow, the musician and composer headed to London in 1977 to train at the Royal Academy of Music. Under the tutelage of such greats as Cornelius Cardew and Malcolm MacDonald, he developed an approach that evokes the most delicate shifts in atmosphere and emotion.
On his return to Glasgow, Armstrong became in-house composer at the influential Tron Theatre, working for the first time with director Michael Boyd (now at the Royal Shakespeare Company). It was also at the Tron that Armstrong met actor/ director Peter Mullan, whose films (including The Magdalene Sisters and Neds) he continues to provide the music for today. Armstrong's early work, scoring for theatrical productions such as Boyd's radical 1993 interpretation of Macbeth, laid the foundations for a spectacular career in film.
Since the mid-nineties, he has created scores for both Hollywood and independent films, from Mullan's directorial debut The Close Trilogy to Bafta, Golden Globe and Novello award-winning soundtracks for Baz Luhrmann's William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and Moulin Rouge. Many more films have benefited from Armstrong's expert touch, including Love Actually, Ray, World Trade Center, and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.
When Will Salas (Justin Timberlake) is falsely accused of murder, he must figure out a way to bring down a system where time is money - literally - enabling the wealthy to live forever while the poor, like Will, have to beg, borrow, and steal enough minutes to make it through another day. In Time also stars Amanda Seyfried and Cillian Murphy.
"It was a real pleasure working with Andrew and imagining and hopefully creating what music might sound like with all its different cultural influences in the future," said Armstrong.

New Regency Pictures presents In Time in theaters on October 28th, 2011. In Time - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack on Lakeshore Records will be released digitally on October 25th and in stores on November 29, 2011.
