John Carter Cash Unearths Family Archives To Present Loving & Rich Portrait Of 'The Man In Black'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Planned Television Arts) In the new, lavishly illustrated book, HOUSE OF CASH: The Life, Legacy and Archives of The Man in Black (Insight Editions; $39.95 hardcover, illustrated; October 19, 2011), John Carter Cash, the only son of country music legend, Johnny Cash, and his wife country singer and performing partner June Carter, pays loving tribute to The Man in Black, as Johnny Cash was known to his fans. A successful, multi-Grammy-winning record producer in his own right, John Carter Cash has reached into the extensive family archives to produce a memoir of a father who he says was "of steadfast faith, and an open book in so many ways. But he was also a very deep and even mysterious man, intriguing and unpredictable."

Featuring many color and black and white photos, as well as numerous removable keepsake facsimile documents, HOUSE OF CASH is a memoir, biography, and deeply personal remembrance of the man beneath the black. From his roots, it records Cash's early hardscrabble life in Arkansas and progress into adulthood, through his military service and growing abilities as a performer. It also includes a large number of unpublished photographs, poetry and songs, master tapes dating back to the mid-50s, sketches, film reels, audio tape mixes, and so much more.

HOUSE OF CASHoffers an intimate perspective on the personalities and everyday idiosyncrasies of both Johnny Cash and wife June Carter Cash. John Carter Cash, gathers all the rich threads of his parents' lives and his happy childhood, all recorded in great detail in words and many intimate family photos collected for this book.

John Carter Cash is a Grammy Award-winning music producer, who has worked with Rick Rubin as associate producer on his father Johnny Cash's American III: Solitary Man and American IV: The Man Comes Around, the latter receiving three CMA awards. John owns and operates the Cash Cabin Studio and Cash Productions, LLC.

Published by www.insighteditions.com, House of Cash is being promoted across the nation with a 30-station radio tour by Planned Television Arts (PTA) www.plannedtvarts.com. Radio interview appearances include Sirius XM Radio, CMT Radio Network, Fox News Radio, and Westwood One Radio Network. PTA Chief Marketing Officer Brian Feinblum says, "Johnny is a unique American icon and his son's book is a real gift for his fans."
