New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Scala & Kolacny Brothers, the all-female Belgian rock choir turned international phenomenon, have been spreading their "brilliantly haunting" (EW) sound throughout
Europe since conquering the U S this spring, and will re-emerge in the US with a pledge drive special on public television titled 'Scala & Kolacny Brothers - Live From Bruges,' premiering November 26.
One of Scala's many highlights in recent months includes their 2011 self-titled album (ATCO) and accompanying single, a stirring interpretation of U2's "With or Without You," both reaching #1 on Irish charts and also charting in Germany, Italy, and the UK. The song is included in the trailer for the second season of ITV1's Emmy-winning series 'Downton Abbey.' Following the inclusion of their version of The Police's "
Every Breath You Take" in the first season's trailer, ITV received more than 4,000 inquiries about the music, as the album had not yet been released in the UK. (Scala, no stranger to trailer notoriety, captivated millions when their re-imagining of Radiohead's "
Creep" was featured in the trailer for 'The Social Network.)
Led by brothers Steven and Stijn Kolacny, Scala performed the prestigious Sunday afternoon slot at the UK's Latitude Festival in July to a blown-away crowd of approximately 20,000. The remainder of 2011 finds Scala touring through a slew of sold-out shows in Belgium and Germany, capping the year off with a special performance at London's HMV Forum on December 13. They are also in the midst of a massive radio campaign with Monster.com in Germany.
