Forget Wall Street, Rocker Willie Basse Takes Action To End Hunger With His "Feed America-Now" Tour
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Levine Communications Office) While America takes the fight for food to Wall Street, rocker Willie Basse is taking action straight to the Main Streets of America to directly benefit hungry Americans nationwide. Basse has just announced dates for his 2011/2012 Feed America-Now tour to raise awareness, funds and food donations of which 100 percent will go directly to local food banks in each city on the tour.

"One in five children go to bed hungry every night and the face of America's hungry is changing," Basse said. "They are often hard-working, educated adults, children and seniors who just can't make ends meet and are forced to go without food for several meals, or even days."

The idea for Feed America-Now came to Basse after being on tour this year, talking to capable educated people who fell on hard times and need help. He realized that, rather than watching people talk about what needs to be done, it was time to just get things done in a grassroots way, Americans helping fellow Americans.

"There's an everyday hero within all Americans and every single person has the power to make a difference, even in small ways by making a donation or volunteering at a local food bank," Basse said. "I had to step up with a solution to an epidemic that is out of control in our own backyard and that's why I put this together."

Basse, whose namesake band just completed a U.S. tour with Adler's Appetite, featuring ex-Guns N' Roses member Steven Adler, is routing his Feed America-Now tour through select cities throughout November, December and January. Basse is touring in support of Break Away, his new single featuring guest appearances by guitarist George Lynch (Lynch Mob/Dokken) and drummer James Kottak (Scorpions). The song is available at https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/break-away/id392127794).

Basse is best known for his role as the bassist/frontman for the legendary metalheads Black Sheep who were mainstays on the Los Angeles Sunset Strip during the 80s metal explosion. The band, best known for their technical prowess and precision, has boasted members that include Slash (Guns N' Roses/Velvet Revolver), Paul Gilbert (Race X/Mr. Big), James Kottak (Scorpians), Randy Castillo (Ozzy Osbourne/Lita Ford), Kurt James and Mitch Perry (Edgar Winter/Cher/MSG).
