The Latin Recording Academy To Hold Ceremony Honoring Recipients Of The 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award And Trustees Award

LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Recording Academy) The list of invited guests include 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award honorees Gal Costa, José Feliciano, Alex Lora, Les Luthiers, Ruben Rada and Linda Ronstadt as well as Trustees Award recipients Manuel Alejandro, Jesus "Chucho" Ferrer and Ray Santos. President/CEO of The Latin Recording Academy Gabriel Abaroa Jr. and President/CEO of The Recording Academy Neil Portnow will also be in attendance.

Ceremony to include the presentation of the 2011 Latin Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award, which is determined by a vote of The Latin Recording Academy's Trustees to performers who, during their lifetimes, have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording.The Latin Recording Academy'sTrustees Award is presented by vote to individuals who, during their careers in music, have made significant contributions, other than performance, to the field of recording.

The Lifetime Achievement and Trustees Awards honors a diverse group of inspired and magnificent creators who have contributed some of the most distinctive and seminal recordings in Spanish, English and Portuguese of the past century. The ceremony will precede the 12th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards, which will be held at Mandalay Bay Events Center on Thursday, Nov. 10, and will be broadcast live on the Univision Network from 8-11 p.m. ET/PT.
