Tokyo Rosenthal Hits High Note With "Black To Blue"
Chapel Hill, NC (Top40 Charts/ Glass Onyon PR) Award winning singer songwriter, Tokyo Rosenthal, has struck a nerve within the Americana Music community with his new tune, "Black To Blue". The track appears on his latest CD release, 'Who Was That Man?', and is about the recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico caused by the BP Oil disaster.

Rosenthal speaks out on his record about the left over damage in the Gulf and how poorly it was all handled both for wildlife and industry. He also dedicated the entire album "To the memory of all wildlife that lost their lives and were maimed from the BP OIL LEAK."

"Watching the oil leak out of that well live on TV daily drove me mad," said Rosenthal. "It was like watching our whole eco-system get destroyed and treated as though it was some cheap reality TV show. I know a song can't do much to heal things but if it can provoke some thoughts and memorialize what has happened, well, then I've done my job", added Tokyo.

Toke's imagery was basically that he'd believe again when the water turns from "Black To Blue" and that we have the technology to wage wars and land a man on the moon but we "fumbled the ball" capping an oil well. He also takes a stab at the oil company's concerns for profits over "Bayou safety".

Rosenthal has offered to give all download proceeds of "Black To Blue" to The Department Of Coastal Restoration in Louisiana. At present he awaits and answer from the Department as to whether they want the donations and will cooperate in general with the fund raiser.

'Who Was That Man?' is riding high on the Americana Charts (#5 on both The Alternate Roots and FAR Charts, #8 on The Euro American Chart) due in part to the acceptance and acclaim for "Black To Blue". Reviewers have repeatedly singled out the track with accolades like:

"The most direct song here, "Black To Blue", talks about the devastation of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico last year, an event which I guess should stain the conscience of all of us oil junkies." NO DEPRESSION

"For my money, this album qualifies Rosenthal as not just an excellent singer-songwriter but as a fine human. The final dedication in the album sleeve rests with all the wildlife who were killed or maimed in the "BP oil leak". Not only has "Toke" created a musically adventurous and lyrically incisive album, but he has also hinted at human qualities that are not usually found in the common singer-songwriter." BLUES BUNNY

" 'Black to Blue' talks about the BP oil disaster in the gulf, and the wisdom of drilling oil at the expense of the environment." MUZIK REVIEWS

" 'Black To Blue', a really good ecology song and that, my friends, takes some doing." THIRD COAST MUSIC

Rosenthal has been performing "Black To Blue" live while on tour and loves to lecture the audience on the status of the Gulf region and to not forget what happened and how to prevent it from happening again. Tokyo began an International tour in August and has been performing not only in the U.S. but in the UK , Europe , and soon Scandinavia.
