TJ Evans - The Funk Is In The Blood; New Album Released
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ JMD Distribution) Music is in the DNA of singer TJ Evans. Consider this: Her great uncle is Peter Bocage, one of the greatest trumpeters in New Orleans history. Piano virtuoso Eddie Bo is related to her. A grandmother of hers used to be an opening act for Ray Charles and last but not the least, her mother toured as a vocalist with legendary musician George Clinton's Brides of Funkenstein.

With that much musical pomp and pedigree, are you still surprised that TJ Evans became a musician herself? From a long family tradition, music has become TJ Evans' undeniable passion.

When TJ was only 14 years old, soul and R&B artists Luther Vandross and Patti LaBelle made great impressions on her. But the crunching rock of Pantera and Metallica also got into the mix, and it resulted in TJ Evans' unique yet potent blend of music genres that she is now currently practicing and sharing to the world. TJ learned to play the guitar and improved her riffs and amplified her live performances. But before she went into music full throttle, TJ worked as a freelance music journalist, traveling the Midwest to interview and photograph other music greats like George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Amuse, Remember Paris, and Every Avenue.

With the life experiences she has mustered - traveling, writing, being naturally creative and collaborative - TJ Evans set out to make music that's truly her own. She fuses rock 'n' roll, R&B, funk, and blues, and spectacularly so, producing tracks that introduce a new breed of artist to watch out for. The track 'Paradiso' was recorded with her uncle Cordell 'Boogie' Mosson of band Parliament Funkadelic and highlights her soulful sound. She even collaborated with legendary MC Grandmaster Jay on the track 'Shakey Ground'. You get a sampling of TJ's music sensibility and it's worth the listen.

Tall, lanky, and be-tattooed, TJ grabs your attentions as she grabs her guitar and gets on stage. With her gritty vocals, raw guitar-playing, and awesome grooves, you are assured that TJ Evans' sound is all her own - a true original that you cannot ignore.

TJ Evans' music is ready for download at iTunes distributed by JMD Records and INgrooves, a partner of Universal Music Group.
