New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Hoganson Media Relations) The best-selling new artist of 2011, The City Harmonic, has now been named "New Artist of the Year," by the Gospel
Music Association Canada during the 33rd Annual Covenant Awards ceremony held in Calgary, AB October 28. In addition to "New Artist," The City Harmonic members garnered awards at the ceremony for "Modern Worship Song of the Year" and "Recorded Song of the Year" for their multi-format hit single, "Manifesto."
Featured on the Introducing The City Harmonic EP and as a bonus track for a limited time on the band's first full-length album, I Have A
Dream (It Feels Like Home), "Manifesto" has sold nearly 100,0000 copies and has become the only song from a new artist this year that has broken into the top 10 of the SoundScan Top Current digital singles sales chart. The song's companion music video has been viewed on YouTube by well over 1,000,000 people (https://www.youtube.com/thecityharmonic).
As "Manifesto" continues to inspire listeners throughout North
America and beyond, The City Harmonic's I Have A
Dream (It Feels Like Home) has been "wowing" the critics, who are using adjectives like "fabulous," "infectious," "exciting," "spectacular," "worshipful," "captivating," "creative," "brilliant" and more to describe the new album released Oct. 18 on Kingsway with EMI CMG Distribution in the USA. The most recent review is from Alt Rock Live: "It's clear that The City Harmonic didn't fail to pull out all the stops for their first full length studio album I Have a
Dream (It feels like home)."
Hitting No. 1 on iTunes® in Canada, and never leaving the Top 4 on the iTunes Christian/Gospel US chart, I Have A
Dream (It Feels Like Home) also hit No. 6 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart in its street week as the title track gathers airplay on K-LOVE and Air1 radio networks, along with other radio stations across the country. The title track is also the band's second video, which is already gathering numerous views at https://www.youtube.com/thecityharmonic.
The City Harmonic members will be playing the hit singles and new music from I Have A
Dream (It Feels Like Home) as they join newsboys for the "God's Not Dead World Tour" that launches in January and travels coast-to-coast into May 2012. Tour dates to be announced soon.
