Rene Lopez Playing Brooklyn Bowl In NYC And The Mint In Los Angeles!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Girlie Action Media & Marketing) Rene Lopez will be opening for the mighty Fishbone at the Brooklyn Bowl on Sunday, November 13th, and he will be returning there for a headlining show on Thursday, November 29th. He'll also be flying out to West Coast to play The Mint in Los Angeles, CA for a show on Thursday, December 1st! Rene will be playing new tracks off his forth album, ELS, which was released by Nat Geo Music this past summer, along with some of his old favorites.ELS stands for Electric Latin Soul, a term Rene has coined for the new style of music he has developed. A mixture of Latin soul and Boogaloo with elements of rock, hip-hop, and R&B - Rene's sound is one that is distinctly Nuyorican. ELS features co-producers Mario Caldato Jr., a.k.a. Mario C (Beastie Boys, Jack Johnson, Bebel Gilberto) and Jason Lader (Julian Casablancas, Jenny Lewis), as well as special guests Joey Altruda, and Money Mark (John Butler Trio). The album as a whole is a nod to Rene's Latin roots, with an eye on modern electronic music and good ol' rock-and-roll.

"A Latin soul charmer" - Washington Post

"Influenced by old-school masters like Wilson Pickett, Shuggie Otis, and the Exciters, Rene encompasses the very soul of soul."- New York Post
