New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Pan American Musical Art Research) Pan American Musical Art Research (PAMAR) announces the 6th Annual Latin American Cultural Week (LACW), a diverse, dynamic showcase of the rich culture of Latin America, November 10-17, throughout New York City.
More than 150 artists and organizations are participating in this year's 35+ LACW programs, which include Cuban jazz saxophonist Paquito D'Rivera, PINTA Art Fair, literary programs at The Americas Society, folk painting at Centro Civico Cultural Dominicano, Argentina's Praxis International Art, theatrical performances at Repertorio Espanol and more. PAMAR will present the LACW opening event, a Festival of Latin American Music, on Thursday, November 10 - 8:00 PM at Hiro Ballroom at the Maritime Hotel, 88 Ninth Avenue, Manhattan. Performers will include Venezuelan violinist Eddy Marcano and his acoustic trio, Chile's Los Chamanes with
Natalia Bernal, and the Brazilian sounds of Ogans.
Two LACW 2011 closing events will be on Thursday, November 17:
5:15 PM - 4th Annual Latin American Piano and Song Festival NYC at Tanger Auditorium of Brooklyn College Library, 2900 Bedford Avenue.
7:30 PM - History of Tango with Quintet of the Americas, Polly Ferman (piano) and
Daniel Binelli (bandoneon) at the Salvation Army Temple of Queens, 86-07 35th Avenue in Jackson Heights.
And the Manhattan closing on Friday, November 18 at 8:00 PM - PAMAR and Manhattan Camerata present The Tango-Fado Project atBlessed Sacrament Church, 152 W. 71st Street - Argentine Tango and Portuguese Fado.
