Jordy Towers Tours With Fellow Interscope Artists The Knux
LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Interscope Records) Interscope recording artist Jordy Towers will join label mates, The Knux, on a cross-country tour that kicks off November 8th in Scottsdale, AZ. With a bold but melodious voice, Jordy brings energy and charisma to his rapping and singing. Like The Knux, he makes catchy yet genre-defying music that is accentuated by his off-the-wall personality and humor.

From his quirky yet confident charm, you wouldn't know Towers was homeless after a short stint in jail until last year when he signed a record deal with Roma Records/Blackground Records that is distributed by Interscope Records. While growing up in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley, Towers fell in love with hip hop at a young age, stealing his sister's Dr. Dre and 2 Live Crew albums to study and emulate. After encouragement from The Jackson 5's Jackie Jackson and his wife Enid who took Towers in, the mohawked motormouth pursued music and made a record under the name "Optimus" that got the attention of Lupe Fiasco, who brought Jordy out on his tour. Soon after, Jordy started gaining momentum and attention that led up to his signing.

Towers' upcoming debut album is a hyper-collision of dirty electro-funk ("Spaceboy Boogie"), rocking reggae hip hop ("ADD") and laid-back summer pop ("Feelin' California") that showcases his effortless shifts between soulful singing and razor-sharp rapping, as well his nimble wordplay and ear for killer hooks. A-listers like J.R. Rotem, Danger Mouse, Bangladesh and The Runaways collaborated with Towers on the album.

Two singles from it, the pop-flavored "Money Money" and retro-seasoned "Don't Say It's Over," (available on iTunes November 15th) are being presented together in an eight-minute short film directed by Interscope Records Creative Director and award-winning choreographer Laurieann Gibson (Lady Gaga). During the video, Towers gets to show off his eccentric style and dance moves that compliment his irresistibly catchy yet stubbornly eclectic music.
