Martin Solveig Sets Major North American Tour; Trek Heralds Superstar Producer's New Single, 'Big In Japan,' Out On November 15, 2011
NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Big Beat/ Atlantic Records) Big Beat recording artist Martin Solveig has announced details of his upcoming North American headlining tour. The dates get underway November 9th at The Necto in Ann Arbor, Michigan and continue through his December 3rd marquee performance at New York City's Pacha (see below itinerary).

The coast-to-coast tour celebrates the world-renowned French DJ/Producer's single release, "Big In Japan," available at all digital retailers on November 15th. The track - which sees Solveig accompanied by Canadian electropop combo Dragonette and Japanese girl group Idoling!!! - was recently featured on an episode of HBO's hit series, How To Make It In America. SMASH, the forthcoming album containing the singles, "Hello," "Ready 2 Go," and "Big In Japan" is set for release on Big Beat Records in early 2012.

The brilliant official music video for "Big In Japan" serves as the latest installment in Solveig's "SMASH" web series. Award-winning French actress Mélanie Laurent, known worldwide for roles in such acclaimed films as Inglourious Basterds and Beginners, makes a special appearance. "Big In Japan" follows Solveig's worldwide hit, "Hello" which is currently approaching RIAA platinum single certification with US sales in excess of 930,000. "Hello" peaked at #1 on both the iTunes "Top Dance Songs Chart" and Billboard's "Hot Dance/Club Play Songs," while also reaching the top 20 of the "Pop Songs" ranking of mainstream top 40 radio airplay detections as measured by Nielsen BDS. "Hello" has been certified double platinum in Canada and Australia and platinum in Germany and Italy.

As if all the airplay weren't enough, the video for "Hello," having racked up almost 60 million views, is widely regarded a YouTube blockbuster. Shot on location at the Roland Garros French Tennis Open in front of 12,000 spectators, the track's companion clip features cameos from real international tennis stars such as Novak Djokovic, Gaël Monfils, Olivia Sanchez, and Mathilde Johansson, plus fellow French superstar DJ/Producer, Bob Sinclar as Martin's worthy tennis adversary. The ingenious clip, which received rotation on both MTV and VH1, was also named as "Video of the Day" on VH1's Morning Buzz and was featured on MTV's popular The Seven.

Both Solveig and "Hello" have received rapturous critical acclaim from all corners of the globe with features and reviews in outlets such as USA Today, Billboard, E! News, Entertainment Weekly, The Huffington Post, and Esquire UK. He recently received an MTV Europe Music Awards nomination for Best French Artist and SPIN Magazine named "Hello" as one of its "20 Best Songs of Summer." SPIN sums things up nicely declaring that Solveig is "shaping how pop music's going to sound in the next few years."

An internationally beloved DJ, producer, and performer, Martin Solveig is one of dance music's most in-demand artists and creative icons. At 21, the Parisian DJ started his own Mixture Stereophonic label and released his first dance hit single, "Heart of Africa." Solveig's first album, SUR LA TERRE, arrived in 2002 earning critical acclaim, and was followed in early 2005 by the hit single "Everybody." 2005's HEDONIST album and 2008's C'EST LA VIE album confirmed Solveig as a major figure in modern electronic music, and introduced his gifts as both vocalist and pop songwriter.

In 2009, Solveig was presented with two of the most prestigious accolades any Frenchman could hope to win: the Chevalier Des Arts et Des Lettres (honoring his remarkable contribution to the arts) and the Artiste de Musiques Electroniques de l'Annee award at the French Victoires de la Musique, both standing as testament to his ever-growing popularity and forward-thinking style and creativity.
