Ponti calls his interpretation of Rimsky-Korsakov's classic, "a lively tribute to my cultural roots and to my mother who hails from a small town near Naples," tying together his rich Neapolitan heritage with his dynamic, passionate conducting style.
Ponti will also honor the work of his father, famed producer Carlo Ponti, leading Ennio Morricone's celebrated Rome Sinfonietta Orchestra in a concert on December 12 at Sala Sinopoli in Rome, featuring selections from Ponti Sr.'s films Dr. Zhivago, La Ciocara, and La Strada.
