Deadmau5 Garners Three Grammy Nominations For Best Dance/Electronica Album, Best Dance Recording And Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Electronic music producer deadmau5 (pronounced 'dead mouse') has been nominated for three Grammy Awards including Best Dance/Electronica Album for his critically acclaimed LP 4x4=12 and Best Dance Recording for "Raise Your Weapon" with Greta Svabo Bech. Also nominated was deadmau5's stellar remix of the Foo Fighter's "Rope" in the Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical category for which deadmau5 says, "It's been an honor and a privilege to remix one of my all time favorite bands let alone it being nominated for a Grammy."

Released on December 6, 2010, through leading dance music imprint Ultra Music, 4x4=12 hit #1 on iTunes Dance Chart and #4 on iTunes Overall Sales chart upon its debut. The collection includes the atmospheric, Grammy-nominated track "Raise Your Weapon" featuring Picture Book singer Greta Svabo Bech, as well as "Cthulhu Sleeps," "Some Chords" and the deadmau5 vs. Wolfgang Gartner collaboration "Animal Rights." Highlighted in Rolling Stone's revered "Hot List," the album's massive single "Sofi Needs A Ladder," featuring vocalist SOFI, was tapped as "maximum fist-pumpage guaranteed" (11/25/10), while the magazine's review called 4x4=12 "audacious" (12/9/10). SPIN.com also listed 4x4=12 as one of the "27 Winter Albums That Matter Most" stating, "Sound-wise, the Toronto native's production style favors a thick and anthemic brand of progressive house/electro with ample kick and drive…" (11/29/10). Industry powerhouse Billboard said it best: deadmau5 will "…go down as one of the biggest stars in dance music history" (12/4/10).

Most recently, the Canadian wrapped the North American leg of his record-breaking Meowingtons Hax tour with a sold-out hometown show at Rogers Centre in Toronto which has been recorded for the Meowingtons Hax Live From Toronto DVD set for release via Ultra Music on January 23.

deadmau5, via a special partnership with the Wynn in Las Vegas, is set to appear at its top-tier nightclubs XS and Encore throughout 2012, beginning with a New Year show on January 2 at XS. He'll perform at Pier 36 in New York City on New Year's Eve (December 31) and Arkadia at the Fountainblue Hotel in Miami on New Year's Day (January 1). He's also confirmed for the SPIKE TV Video Game Awards on December 10 where he will transform the show with his visual representation of sound into a real life video game experience.

"aural psynapse," an exclusive iTunes single, is deadmau5's most current offering. An integral part of his critically acclaimed Meowingtons Hax live show, it debuted at #7 on the iTunes Dance Single chart this past November. Wrote Brian Mansfield of USA Today (11/22/11), "One of electronic dance music's stars pulls from his pre-deadmau5 career for this haunting, synth-heavy track."
