Alyson Greenfield To Premiere Cover Video For "Mama Said Knock You Out"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Roc-Elle records) Since releasing her hip-hop covers EP Rock Out With Your Glockenspiel Out this summer, Brooklyn-based performer Alyson Greenfield has sustained a characteristically eclectic and whirlwind pace, presenting the 2nd year of her Tinderbox Music Festival, recording at the Converse Rubber Tracks studio, touring the East Coast, and performing multiple times during the CMJ Music Marathon. Greenfield's song "Uncharted Places" is currently featured as "Track of The Week" on www.converse.com/rubbertracks. She is soon to be featured in YRB and LADYGUNN magazines and has appeared at the American Beatbox Championships and the World Maker Faire at the NY Hall of Science. In addition she recently received accolades internationally from publications such as Playboy Russia ("Top 4 Hot NYC Music Acts") to France's L'Oreille En Feu blog.

Rock Out With Your Glockenspiel Out was released in July on roc-elle records (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/rock-out-with-your-glockenspiel/id451157131?uo=4) and has garnered rave reviews across the blogosphere and from the likes of the LA Examiner and Cover Me. The album contains five undeniably unique covers of ubiquitous pop songs such as the '90s hits "All That She Wants" (Ace of Base) and "Mama Said Knock You Out" (LL Cool J), as well as cult favorites"Milkshake" by Kelis and "Bad Boys" by Inner Circle. The official video for her cover of Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise" has accumulated 10,000 views on Youtube (https://youtu.be/wEBt3qcLHVQ). The next video in the covers series presents her interpretation of the LL Cool J hit. Dressed in a boxing robe that conceals an open-backed gown, Greenfield masters the camera, her elegant fingers flying across piano keys, while her expressive face and fierce delivery provide a nuanced experience of the rap classic, at times both commanding and contemplative. The "Mama Said" video, directed by Adam Holz, will premiere in January 2012.

A singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Greenfield experiments with pianos, guitars, autoharps, synthesizers, glockenspiels, chord organs, drums, and beatboxers. Since arriving on the NYC scene in 2009, she has been recognized by publications such as The Huffington Post, Gothamist, Paste, Relix, The LA Examiner, The Deli, and Venus Zine. Her music has been heard worldwide from FOX Television to the Foyer de L'air in Mali, West Africa. Greenfield has performed and collaborated with Chicago electronica trio Future Rock, who released their remix of her song "Understand The Sky" on their album Live At Wicker Park (2010). Her original composition of "Understand The Sky" can be heard in the feature film Conception, by writer-director Josh Stolberg (Piranha 3D, Good Luck Chuck). The Tinderbox Festival has been covered in major media outlets such as The New York Times, Billboard, Time Out New York, and BUST Magazine.
