HOLLYWOOD, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Eileen Koch & Company) Actress Lisa Zane has been cast to play " The Singer" in the West Coast debut of Amanda Eliasch's narrative stage drama "As I Like It." Written and based upon the life of the British artist Amanda Eliasch, the Genlux editor and acclaimed socialite conjured a deeply personal memoir that recounts her zest for life through tales of heartache and throngs of passion. Lisa Zane fits into the cast of the dark and eccentric storyline with ease. Audiences know her from her role in Curtis Hansen's noir thriller "Bad Influence," TV's "ER" and the dark drama, "Profit."
Amanda wrote the part of The Singer to be both her ghost and her alter ego. Through a series of classical arias and French chansons, Zane exposes the honest and raw experiences of the protagonist. Ms. Zane, a chanteuse of international flavor, and BMI songwriter of note, can be heard singing in Greek over the end credits of the critically acclaimed "Coriolanus."
Zane who debuted on the stage over 25 years ago, and has created many memorable roles, such as Rita in "Prelude to a Kiss," is delighted to extend her singing talent to an original theater piece.
