PHOENIX, AZ. (Zia Records) Authority Zero are turning the biggest and newest member of Phoenix's largest independent record chain - Zia Records - into "Authority Zia" for the band's Andiamó album launch party on June 28th at 11:00pm. Fans will be treated to an intimate Authority Zero concert in the store containing only Authority Zero product, posters, and displays. Fans may pre-order the new album Andiamó at any Zia store now until June 28th to receive a wristband that guarantees admittance.
Wristbands will also be given away on The Edge alternative radio. The Edge was an early supporter of Authority Zero, spinning their music even before the band inked with Lava Records. This is a truly one-of-a-kind event for Zia in their newest and largest store to date.
Authority Zero's sophomore release Andiamo is set to hit the streets June 29th. The album, produced by famed Fat Wreck knob-twister Ryan Green (NOFX) and un-official Sublime member Mike Happoldt (a.k.a. Miguel), was recorded at SJS Studios in Scottsdale, Arizona. 'Andiamo' showcases the band's effusive writing abilities and is their ode to bucking the status quo. 'Andiamó''s driving first single "Revolution" and the sardonic, edgy cover of Wall of Voodoo's alternative hit "Mexican Radio," have already become concert favorites.
Authority Zero have toured with indie-icons NOFX, Sum 41, Pennywise, H20, and Social Distortion, to name a few. Also, the streetwise fellows toured non-stop for over a year promoting their major label debut A Passage In Time, selling some 85,000 copies through good old-fashioned hard work. With comparisons to Sublime (Idaho Statesman) and "Pennywise or Bad Religion at their finest" (Chicago Daily Herald), Authority Zero has established a hard-won reputation for their raucous live concerts.
Authority Zero is vocalist Jason DeVore, guitarist Bill Marcks, bassist Jeremy Wood, and drummer Jim Wilcox. Look for them on tour this summer, when they headline clubs, and later join the east coast leg of the Van's Warped Tour.
