Chicago, IL (Top40 Charts/ Great Divide Official Website) It has been a busy year for Chicago's Great Divide. The band, originally hailing from Ann Arbor, Michigan, played the North Coast Music Festival over Labor Day weekend alongside Common, Fat Boy Slim and Of Montreal, and performed to a packed house at House of Blues Chicago in support of Van Ghost and How Far to Austin on June 11.
On January 28, 2012, Great Divide will make their third appearance at the annual Chicago Bluegrass & Blues Festival. The group made their CBB debut in 2009 after winning the "Last Banjo Standing" contest, and in 2010 were direct support for Corey Chisel and the Wandering Sons at a well-received CBB show at Double Door. This year, Great Divide has the distinction of headlining the local band stage at the Congress Theater, 2135 N. Milwaukee Ave, at 11PM CST. Great Divide's set is sandwiched between main stage headliners Dawes and Drive-By Truckers.
Great Divide made their recorded debut with 2010's self-released "Reservoir" and will be recording a fan-funded follow-up in March, 2012, for a late summer release.
