NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) Legendary punk rock veterans, Down By Law, are heading back to the studio to put the finishing touches on their first new release since 2003.
The yet-unnamed album is scheduled to be released on DC-Jam Records in early summer 2012 and will be available on both CD and digital delivery.
"We are really pumped about this new record and our signing with DC-Jam," stated band founder and front man Dave Smalley. "It feels really good to be back into the studio again with DBL writing new music, and we can't wait to get on the road to showcase this album".
Down By Law was founded in 1989 and has recorded seven previous albums and made numerous appearances on a myriad of punk compilations. Though it's been eight years since the group's last release, the band has maintained a strong and loyal fan base.
"We've been sitting on a few of these tracks now for a couple of years and our fans have been asking about it for a while" Smalley said. "But we just didn't want to rush it and wanted to wait until we found the right label partner to work with on it".
DC-Jam is a midwest based record label that primarily focuses within the genres of Punk, Alternative and Expiremental music.
