Velvet Jones in
Santa Barbara on January 25; Los Angeles on Thursday, January 26 (venue TBA);

Giving fans worldwide a taste of what's coming, AVA will perform at the "Red Bull Sound Space at KROQ," fusing together an on-air broadcast with a live USTREAM webcast. At 3:00 pm PST on Tuesday, January 24, fans are invited to take a front row seat at this new "global" venue via www.kroq.com/soundspace and www.redbullusa.com/soundspace. Southern California fans can also listen in and hear two songs on KROQ 106.7FM (time TBD). Television viewers across the country will also get a chance to check out AVA when the group appears on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday, January 31 - playing their single, "Surrender," the same day it hits radio stations nationwide.
"Five years of hard work are finally being realized in 2012. While it has been quite a rollercoaster ride, we are happy to have succeeded in making this a band of true 'dreamers/modernists,'" said Tom DeLonge, frontman for Angels & Airwaves. "This month, we launch our much anticipated year with a few intimate shows in Southern California, but we plan to return soon with a full not-so-secret 'LOVE' experience."
AVA includes vocalist/guitarist DeLonge, guitarist
David Kennedy, bassist/keyboardist Matt Wachter and newly added 23-year-old drummer/keyboardist Ilan Rubin. AVA has released four studio albums: 2006's gold-certified We Don't Need to Whisper; 2007's I-Empire, which rocketed into the Top 10 of Billboard's Top 200; and 2010's LOVE. Last year, AVA gave away nearly one million downloads of their album LOVE Part One.
AVA released LOVE Part Two (To the Stars Records) on November 8, 2011 in a variety of packages: a standard version that contains both LOVE Part One and LOVE Part Two albums; and a deluxe version with both LOVE albums plus the 85-minute DVD of the LOVE movie. AVAshop.com offers a "gold edition" which adds a 128-page comic book based on the movie, plus a limited-edition t-shirt.
