Opeth's Mikael Akerfeldt Signs Endorsement Deal With Marshall Amps
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ RoadRunner Records) Opeth mainman Mikael Akerfeldt has signed an endorsement deal with Marshall amplifiers. The company issued the following statement:

"We are proud to announce we have signed another new artist to the already impressive roster of big names whose amp of choice is Marshall. We would like to welcome Mikael Ã…kerfeldt to the Marshall family. Mikael is the legendary vocalist, guitarist and songwriter of progressive earth metal band, Opeth. This means that Mikael exclusively will endorse Marshall amplifiers from now on. His model of choice, the Vintage Modern.

Said Mikael, "Well, my first amplifier ever was a 12 Watt Marshall, my second amp was a Marshall 20 Watt and my 3rd amp was a 100 Watt Valvestate head and 4x12 cabinet. The first two were stolen, the last one I had to sell to buy food and pay bills. It's been a long and winding road since, but now I'm back to playing Marshalls and it feels like I'm back home. The Vintage Modern? Well, the name alone speaks volumes. I see Opeth as a modern band with vintage influences and this amp has everything I need. From a mature, warm, clean jazzy tone to the most extreme metal-chug. And everything in between."

Opeth's latest CD, Heritage, is available now!
