Lucero Mint New Memphis Sound On Ato Records Debut 'Women & Work' (March 13) And Massive 2012 Tour
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) On March 13, Memphis' own Lucero will release 'Women & Work,' their debut for ATO Records, and an album which establishes them as the 21st century voice of that great musical city.

'Women and Work' once again finds the core six-members of Lucero joined by Memphis horn legends Jim Spake (Solomon Burke, Ray Charles) and Scott Thompson (Al Green, Cat Power) on eleven new, original songs that range from barroom brawlers to lonesome laments, and cut deeper than anything else in the band's extensive catalog. The album was recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis, and produced by Ted Hutt (The Gaslight Anthem).

'Women and Work' follows Lucero's acclaimed 2009 release '1372 Overton Park' - which USA Today hailed as "a bold step" - and a solo album by Lucero frontman Ben Nichols, 'The Last Light in the Pale West,' inspired by the Cormac McCarthy book 'Blood Meridian.' Nichols also starred in the 2009 MTV series '$5 Cover' by filmmaker Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow, Footloose).

Lucero are known to play up to 200 shows each year, and 2012 is no different, with a 40+ date winter/spring blowout already announced (see dates below), where they will be joined by Built To Spill, William Elliot Whitmore, J. Roddy Walston & The Business and others.

Lucero are:
Ben Nichols (vocals, guitar), John C. Stubblefield (bass), Brian Venable (guitar), Rick Steff (piano, organ, accordion), Todd Beene (pedal steel), and Roy Berry (drums)
