"Best Thing I Got" Chosen To Compete To Represent Denmark In The Eurovision Song Contest Awards 2012
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Julie Frost Official Website) January 20, 2012 03:00 ET
(Marketwire - Jan 20, 2012) - In 2010, songwriters Julie Frost and John Gordon wrote the song that won Germany the Eurovision Song Contest Award for the first time in 28 years: "Satellite", sung by Lena Meyer-Landrut, then topped music charts and became the name of a car in Europe. This year, Frost and Gordon wrote "Best Thing I Got", an upbeat pop love song sung by Aya (aka Yanne Friis), who will compete alongside nine artists on January 21 at the Gigantium Arena in Aalborg, Denmark for a chance to represent Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest Awards in Baku. "The moment I heard her voice I knew we had found a truly special artist. John and I are thrilled, and we are looking forward to watching her shine in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix on Saturday," says the chart-topping songwriter.

In the last two years, Frost has become one of the most sought-after American songwriters and has worked with top-selling artists worldwide. Frost recently received a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for co-writing "Masterpiece" with Madonna and Jimmy Harry: the song was produced by William Orbit to be featured in Madonna's new film, "W.E."

Frost has co-written songs for many artists including: Beyoncé's single "Countdown" on her recent platinum selling album "4"; the Black Eyed Peas' "Just Can't Get Enough", which is one of Billboard's top 10 songs of 2011, on their album "The Beginning"; Ed Sheeran's "Kiss Me" for his album "+", which hit number one on the UK charts; and other platinum-selling artists.

Before Frost got her big break she was supporting herself as an independent artist in Chicago, performing at nightclubs, teaching music classes, and lending her voice and music to major ad campaigns. Her independently produced album, "The Wave", received critical acclaim and grew her fan following. She was invited twice to be showcased at the Songwriters Hall of Fame and earned an honorable mention in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

Frost's musical turning point came in 2009 when she sent an e-mail with links to her songs to President of North America Creative for EMI Music Publishing Jon Platt. He immediately flew her to Los Angeles and offered her a life-changing deal.
