New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Max Raabe, Germany's tuxedoed and darkly comic star, returns to New York as part of his 2012 World Tour. Equal parts glamour, humor, melancholy, and wit, Raabe and the sophisticated 12-piece Palast Orchester will perform music from their new album 'One Cannot Kiss Alone' (out February 21 on Decca) at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Glimpse Max's "devil-may-care" (NPR) nostalgia here: https://bcove.me/tky5psaw
Called "fascinating" (NY Times), "virtuosic" (Wall Street Journal), and "exquisitely polished" (NPR), Raabe has performed at venues from Carnegie Hall to Marilyn Manson's wedding, gaining notoriety for his inimitable pop homage to Germany's "Roaring 20s." 'One Cannot Kiss Alone' gives that Palast Orchester treatment to twelve new tales of modern love, from the unsentimental, sensually swinging title track to the tongue-in-cheek "Top Secret Mission," all executed with orchestral arrangements and vaudeville timing.
