Re-live The Jazz Age At "Wet" Willie's Juice Joint
Bay View, WI (Top40 Charts/ Willie's Juice Joint Official Website) Step back in time to the golden age of hot jazz, soundies, flappers and bootleg gin. On Friday, March 23rd, 2012, "Wet" Willie's Juice Joint- A Traveling Speakeasy will visit the Bay View Brewhaus, 2535 S Kinnickinnic Ave, for one night only starting at 9:00 pm.

For this exclusive event, "Wet" Willie's Juice Joint will feature live music by hot jazz vocal trio Bootless Betties and gypsy jazz by 4th Street Elevator. Dancers from Brew City Bombshells Burlesque will shimmy to 20s and 30s music and silent films will be playing throughout the night. Those who come dressed in their 20s and 30s best will be offered drink specials and door prizes and a fashion contest with swell swag rounds out the night. Not sure what to wear? Tart Deco- Vintage Glamour & Retro Style and So Passé will be selling fancy goods for any well-dressed flapper or gangster. Don't forget to stop by the photo station!

The Jazz Age event is the brain-child of Bootless Betties and actor/producer Paul Matthew Madden, who wanted to host a night that made people feel like they were walking into a real 1920s speakeasy bar. "Interest in 20s and 30s culture is really growing because of television shows like Boardwalk Empire and movies like The Artist and the upcoming Great Gatsby remake," says Stephanie Lewin-Lane, one of the three vocalists and manager of Bootless Betties. "'Wet' Willie's Juice Joint is a chance for people to dress up and experience what it was like to live during Prohibition, where the ban of alcohol distribution drove most of Americans to patronize illegal underground speakeasy bars." Madden adds, "We've included everything- from an entrance password to a raid by G-men."
