New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Tijuana Gift Shop) NEW CASSETTES have just confirmed a support tour with We Were Promised Jetpacks, taking the band across the U.S. through March and April for their first ever national tour. The Northampton, England five-piece delivers a fresh blast of modern rock that is artful, edgy and infectious and will begin their Stateside run with a week of shows in Austin for South By Southwest.
Originally set for March release, New Cassettes will release Winterhead on April 3, 2012 on N13 Records in partnership with MTV.
The follow up to the Silent Guns
Deluxe EP, which received accolades from AOL Spinner, PureVolume,
Filter & RCRD LBL, Winterhead is a fascinating blend of indie rock, dance pop and new wave. The quintet have been leaving audiences swooning since 2005 with spiky guitars going head to head with propulsive rhythms and hook-filled choruses. The album was mixed by with Grammy Award-winning songwriter and producer Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne and sound engineer Geoff Sanoff (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, School of
Seven Bells).
New Cassettes gained critical acclaim from plays on
Radio 1, BBC6 and XFM and have been leaving audiences swooning since 2005. From supporting the
Strokes to playing Glastonbury, Latitude and Wireless Festivals, releasing three singles and their debut album The Art Of... in the UK and Japan.
The band's music has been featured on The Inbetweeners (UK) Soundtrack, in the season premiere of Grey's Anatomy and a number of times on MTV hit Jersey Shore.
New Cassettes release Winterhead on April 3, 2012 in partnership with MTV and will be touring the U.S. through the summer.
