NASHVILLE, Tenn. (DreamWorks Records) - Well... it's just your usual day as a recording artist. Not!!! On Monday June 14 country music stars Mark Wills and Darryl Worley were invited by President Bush to join him at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL on Wednesday June 16, as he addressed the troops at CENTCOM and thanked them for all of their continued hard work. The President wanted Mark and Darryl on hand to help him say "thank you" with a musical salute to our men and women in uniform. Known for his mega-hit "Have You Forgotten," DreamWorks recording artist Darryl Worley was busy in the studio working on his next collection of hits on when he got the call from the President's office. He dropped everything and started making plans! "It's an honor to go anytime the President calls to help our men and women who are graciously dedicated to helping make sure America is free," said Worley. Mark Wills already had plans with another branch of the military on Wednesday, he was scheduled to jump with the Army's Golden Knights here in Nashville, so when he got the call he some explaining to do. "I was originally scheduled to jump with the Army's Golden Knights but I got a call from the President's office inviting me here in Tampa, so I had to make my apologies to the guys back in Nashville. I felt bad about canceling, but… it IS the President, so they understood. After all, they work for him too! Seriously though, after my trip to Iraq over the Christmas holidays last year, my life was changed. I really saw first hand what our service men and women sacrifice for our country. I'm honored that President Bush invited me to perform so I could make a small contribution," said Wills Both Mark and Darryl flew out of Nashville via private jet at "0 six hundred" on Wednesday morning (that's 6AM!!!) to MacDill and then flew back to Nashville around 3:00pm Wednesday afternoon. Whew, what a trip!! Both men were happy to oblige and will graciously accommodate anytime the President calls!
