Dr. John Treats SXSW To Live Premiere Of Dan Auerbach Collaboration, 'Locked Down'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Dr. John (aka Mac Rebennack) will treat South By Southwest attendees with the debut performance of material from his earth-shattering new album, 'Locked Down' (April 3, Nonesuch Records), a collaboration with The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach, who produced and is featured on the album.

Dr. John will make his SXSW debut with his own band, playing selections from 'Locked Down' and his other classic material as part of the Warner Brothers showcase at La Zona Rosa, March 14 at 11:30PM. On March 15, Dr. John will stop by a listening party of the album hosted by WXRT's (CBS - Chicago, IL) Norm Winer at Hotel St. Cecilia at 1:30PM.

'Locked Down,' which Rolling Stone hailed as "a gritty brew of New Orleans R&B, psychedelia and voodoo that recalls John's greatest LPs," stems from a performance collaboration between Dr. John and longtime fan Auerbach at Bonnaroo 2011 and was recorded late last year in Nashville at Auberbach's Easy Eye Sound. Dr. John will visit the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) for "Dr. John: Insides Out," an artistic residency with an extraordinary entourage of musical guests, offering three distinct perspectives on his formidable career over nine nights, beginning March 29.
