Vancouver, BC (Top40 Charts/ Nimbus School of Recording Arts) Out of 149 submissions (from 6 provinces, 20 US states, and from as far away as Egypt, Australia, & Brazil); four were selected to compete for recording time in the world class studios at the
Nimbus School of Recording Arts. The recordings will be overseen by Nimbus' diversely talented stable of producers. This bi-annual charity showcase will be held on Monday, April 2nd at The Media Club (695 Cambie St) in Vancouver.
Nimbus'
Music Business students judged and chose these four diverse bands. We Hunt Buffalo (grimy stoner rock group from Vancouver), Ashleigh Eymann (Victoria, BC funky soul-blues artist -a PEAK Performance Projects Top 20 for 2011), Pineapple (Vancouver eclectic catchy indie-pop band), and Graves (heavy metal band based out of Vancouver, BC). The night will close with a guest performance by Coquitlam pop-ska band The Faceplants.
Nimbus Music Production students will be judging the live performances and selecting a grand prize winner(s).
All profits from the evening will go to the Ponzio Children Fund. Randy Ponzio was one of the grand prize winners at the last
Nimbus Showcase event.
Doors will open to the public at 8:00pm. Tickets are $10 in advance at Red Cat, Scratch, and Zulu Record stores, as well as at The Media Club.
