New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Mercenary Publicity) As the former frontman for Hollywood Undead, Deuce is no stranger to controversy. Now he is set to release the debut single from his forthcoming solo album "
Nine Lives" on 15th April 2012 through Five
Seven Music. Entitled "
America" it's a hard hitting, edgy track that is the voice of the alternative generation, and an angry one at that.
Brooklyn's Monikkr (Producer/DJ whose remix credits include Avril Lavigne, Monica, Gym Class Heroes,
Crystal Waters and Freedom Williams and who has opened for Skrillex) has produced a provocative dubstep version of the track, which you can hear here: https://soundcloud.com/mercenary-publicity/deuce-monikkr-remix-for/s-4UqPd
Monikkr's goal "has and always will be, to make the audience dance", and if his vast success over the past few years is any indication he is on the right track.
You can view the Nathan Cox (Marilyn Manson, Linkin Park,
Black Veil Brides) directed video here; https://vimeo.com/34679508, Nathan says about the clip ""Deuce and his band are locked in a house and there are zombies coming. It's pretty much a traditional zombie story." He further elaborates, saying that the video is "symbolic about how 'America has lost its way' and countries blame us for things that are wrong with the world and when they do, they are usually right"
Deuce also allows his fans to experience this new chapter with him as he documents the creation of his album through a video series called 'Nine Lives'. You can check out Chapter 2 here: https://youtu.be/nr0DI8TurEQ
Hailing from Los Angeles, Duece was the co-founder, lead singer and main songwriter/producer for Hollywood Undead. The band wore signature masks to compliment the mystique of their pseudonyms; the idea being that they "could be anybody", and enjoy a certain freedom and anonymity. Deuce emerged as the creative force that led the band. Their debut album, Swan Songs achieved staggering sales, and inspired an equal measure of adoration and revulsion with its eclectic mix of metal, hip-hop and pimped-out pop anthems. Swan Songs reached #1 on the Alternative, Hard Rock and Rock album charts.
