Jonathan Davis Visits The Troops
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ RoadRunner Records) Korn frontman Jonathan Davis recently visited Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany, where he visited wounded soldiers, did a signing, and underwent a brief course of bomb disposal training! Here's the full story, from US Air Force Master Sergeant Jocelin Borisow, who coordinated the whole thing:

"Basically, back in June/July of last year when Korn were in Korea, Jon asked me where he could go to hang out with troops. Since I was stationed in Greenland, I couldn't really help him. I did promise that if he was on tour near a base I was stationed at that I'd help him come on base to hang out with troops. When I found out that Korn were going to be on tour in Europe, I asked him if he was still interested in visiting the troops, and he said that he was, so I contacted the organizations on base that could help me get the right paperwork to bring him on base to visit. Armed Forces Entertainment (AFE) sent me all the required paperwork, which Jens Geiger made sure to get back to me so we could bring Jon on base. All of the coordination occurred between AFE, Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), USO Wounded Warrior Center, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC) and myself at the 886 Civil Engineer Squadron. The whole process took almost three months to coordinate."

Jonathan's itinerary included putting on a bomb suit, learning how to operate a bomb disposal robot and taking a test that required him to pick up an egg with the robot's claw and drop it into a bowl without breaking it, which he did successfully. He then underwent a Readiness and Emergency Management: Chemical, Biological, Radiological/Nuclear Warfare Defense Orientation, did a signing and took photos with fans, then traveled to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center to have lunch with wounded troops in the USO's Wounded Warrior Center, and visit others in their hospital ward, before heading to Korn's next gig.

Korn's latest album, The Path of Totality, is available now!
