New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Kenny Chesney has been honored with the Academy of Country Music's Crystal
Milestone Award, which celebrates the superstar for selling more than 10.5 million tickets on his 11 national tours, helping country acts and crossover artists gain exposure nationwide. He joins past recipients including
Garth Brooks and Taylor Swift. Chesney shows no signs of slowing down, with more than 600,000 tickets already sold for this year's blockbuster, 20-stadium 'Brothers of the Sun' Tour, with Chesney and Tim McGraw.
A four-time ACM Entertainer of the Year winner, Chesney is up for nine ACM Awards on April 1 - more nominations than any artist this year - and is also set to perform at the show. His nominations include Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year for 'Hemingway's Whiskey' (as both artist and producer), and Song of the Year for "You and Tequila" with
Grace Potter. Chesney's new album is out June 19th (BNA).
Following the ACM Awards, Chesney will appear at 'ACM Presents:
Lionel Richie and
Friends in Concert' in Las
Vegas on April 13, and a benefit concert on behalf of the disaster preparedness non-profit PLAN!T NOW on May 26, part of the 11th Michael
Douglas &
Friends Celebrity Golf Tournament, co-hosted by
Morgan Freeman.
