Black Keys, Snoop Dogg, and TV On The
Radio as a top act at the inaugural Catalpa NYC
Music Festival, to be held at Randall's Island on July 28 and 29. Along with other high-profile festivalsand tour dates - including Bonnaroo, the band's interactive UMBowl III on April 27, and their first-ever sUMmer school in August - the "most innovative improvising rock group" (Relix) is in the midst of another nonstop banner year. In addition to Catalpa, Umphrey's will perform at the Hang Out Festival in Gulf Shores, Al., STS9's Re:Generation Festival in North Plains, Or., and the Bear Creek
Music & Art Festival in Live Oak, Fl., which they will headline. They have also announced a new batch of summer tour dates with very special guests G. Love & Special Sauce, including shows in Philadelphia, Boston, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis. Later this year, the band will return to the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Co., where they will headline a two-set show with Railroad Earth on
September 14th.
Also on deck for Umphrey's is the fan-inspired 'Death By Remix' EP. After offering up free remixable stems for four of their latest tracks from 'Death By Stereo' (ATO), nearly a thousand crowd-sourced remixes were sent in through Indaba
Music (indabamusic.com). The submissions cover a wide variety of styles, including electronic and hip-hop, not surprising for a band like Umphrey's that is known for their genre-bending sound. 'Death By Remix,' which features the six winning submissions, is out April 24th on ATO Records.
