Tony Adamo & Mike Clark - Rollin' To #1
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Double Left Hook Productions) Singer/Hip Spokenword artist Tony Adamo has gone to the top of the charts at All About Jazz with his new conception on vocal/spokenword song "9 Miles of Blu."
"9 Miles of Blu" was produced by legendary drummer Mike Clark formerly of Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters. "9 Miles of Blu" has been at #1 on the allaboutjazz.com charts for the last ten days.
Adamo's remake of the Tower of Power classic "What is Hip" is at #22 in the top 50 most downloaded songs on allaboutjazz.com charts for top songs for 2011.

The esteemed Clark is also on board as producer for Adamo's unreleased CD, "9 MILES OF BLU," in which Tony Adamo pays a verbal homage to Dizzie Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, and other widely recognized jazz masters who led the way for the music we enjoy today.

"There is energy and honor and wonder in Adamo's words, especially in the fluid alliterative syncopated way the words reflect the inspiration that jazz gave him. Using cleverly smooth but complex combinations of jazz melodies, "9 Miles of Blu" is a funky, jazzy get in your face groove.
Complementing Adamo's nimble vocals are Mike Clark and guitarist Steve Homan, both of whose equally homage-ist beats and licks, respectively, are hip clean and entirely their own." - Devon Jackson, Rolling Stone & Village Voice.
