Studio Mangiameli Presents A Traves Del Espejo

Chicago, IL (Top40 Charts/ Studio Mangiameli Sons Official Website) Mirrors are a dance student's best friend and worst enemy, exposing moments of beauty and clarity as well as missteps and faulty technique. A Traves Del Espejo is about those occasional magical and transcendent moments when a dancer looks not just into the mirror but through it; where one inhabits one's fantasy and is transformed by the power of imagination. Those moments are what keep dancers going through countless classes and rehearsals and hours of frustration and fatigue.

Developed by Artistic Director Chiara Mangiameli, recently featured in the acclaimed production of Rick Bayless in Cascabel, A Traves Del Espejo brings together an ensemble of nearly thirty dance students from Studio Mangiameli and top musicians from Chicago flamenco groups Las Guitarras De Espana and El Payo.

True to flamenco and its emphasis on personal expression, the student body displays incredible diversity in age and experience, which contributes to the idea that dance belongs to everyone.

Studio Mangiameli's dancers and guest artists will be performing at Adventure Stage Chicago (formerly known as the Vittum Theater), 1012 North Noble Street, on Friday May 18th and 19th at 8pm CST and Sunday May 20th at 4pm CST.
