New Orleans, LA (Top40 Charts/ Skinny Bones Productions) Starting this week and running until the end of Skinny Bones Productions' "BLAMBLAMBLAM, ClickClickClick: The Series" Kickstarter campaign (https://kck.st/GXyavD), anyone who pledges $35 will have the option of receiving a copy of the never-before-released documentary, "The Camouflaged Truth."
The documentary investigates a 2001 night club shooting in Louisiana that resulted in the 30-year prison sentence of platinum, No Limit Records rap artist McKinley "Mac" Phipps Jr., despite another man confessing to the crime. The documentary compiles eyewitness testimony, archival footage and narration by rap artist C-Murder into a tour through the murky depths of the Louisiana justice system.
The project, a joint venture between Skinny Bones Productions and Invasion Pictures, has been making waves since its first trailer appeared in 2007 (https://youtu.be/rj3JLhroGfY). Since then, thousands have followed its progress and attended limited screenings in New Orleans.
This is the first time the documentary will be available for purchase in any format, and even then, the release is dependent on Skinny Bones Productions' reaching its Kickstarter funding goal.
Future plans for the documentary are still being determined, as arrangements to interview Mr. Phipps on video have been complicated by the Louisiana prison system. What is clear is that this DVD release will be a one of a kind.
