Award-Winning Singer/Songwriter And Guitarist Dave Nachmanoff To Perform At Whole Earth Festival 2012
Davis, CA (Top40 Charts/ Dave Nachmanoff Music) - April 18, 2012 - Award-winning singer-songwriter and guitarist Dave Nachmanoff will perform at the Whole Earth Festival at UC Davis in Davis, California on Saturday, May 12, 2012. Nachmanoff will perform on the Main Stage at 11 AM with his band, which will consist of Martin Lewis on guitar, Jeff Simons on bass, and Graham Roggli on drums. Nachmanoff and band will perform songs from his new critically acclaimed CD "Step Up", plus fan favorites.

Whole Earth Festival is a free event that takes place on the UC Davis Campus every year. Whole Earth Festival aims to create an educational and sustainable community. Art is used to involve visitors in the ultimate goal of learning about activism, wellness, and the environment. WEF aims to ignite passion, propel creativity, and leave visitors with inspiration. The festival is self-sustaining and prides itself on always diverting at least 95% of waste into compost and recycling.

Singer-songwriter Dave Nachmanoff can often be found touring with Al Stewart ("Year of the Cat") as his lead guitarist and opening act. In appearances from the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC to the Royal Albert Hall in London, Dave has shared his songs and stories. As a side player (guitar, piano, bass, accordion and more) he's worked with Stewart on a regular basis as well as many others at hundreds of venues as far ranging as The Bottom Line, Glastonbury Festival, and the Edmonton Folk Festival.

"Step Up" is Dave's first solo release in five years. It was produced by Ronan Chris Murphy (King Crimson, Steve Morse), and features musicians Bob Malone (John Fogerty), Ian Sheridan (Jason Mraz) and Victor Bisetti (Los Lobos), and vocalists Al Stewart, Rosemary Butler (Jackson Browne and James Taylor), John Wicks of powerpop band The Records, and Liz Bligan. He's got nine albums in all, including his first, Candy Shower, released in 1997. He's sold over 15,000 recordings, which can be found at Amazon, iTunes, CDBaby and many other outlets.

Nationwide independent music consortium Just Plain Folks honored Dave with the 2001 Songwriter of the Year award. In the past few months, he has been recognized in three songwriting contests - the USA Songwriting Competition, the International Acoustic Music Awards, and the Great American Song Contest. Sing Out! Magazine has praised his "… heartfelt, inspired songwriting … with a delivery both biting and assured."
