New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Girlie Action Media) Record Release Show at Cameo Gallery in Brooklyn on 5/21 w/ Findlay Brown, Sara Savery,
Erika Spring (DJ set) and more!
Today Noisey premiers Brooklyn-based electronic/dream pop duo Blue Foundation's new video "Just a Hand". The track is from their forthcoming album, In My Mind I Am Free, out May 22nd through their own imprint, Dead People's Choice Records. The video is an excursion through the streets of Los Angeles and New York on skateboard. Blue Foundation was founded in 2000 by producer/singer Tobias Wilner. Wilner says of the video, "I asked my old friend
Simon Weyhe to make a video for "Just a Hand". He had done some stuff with Arto Saari and Rune Glifberg I really like. He asked me to fly out to L.A. to shoot a little road movie. He wanted to shoot some skateboarding and some random stuff with me and stop motion. I was pretty terrified by the idea because I hadn't touched a skateboard in almost a year, because of a twisted ankle, but I agreed to do it. All the footage was shot in L.A. over 2 days, except for the NYC bit."
Best known for their songs "Eyes on Fire" (certified double platinum in the US) from the "Twilight Saga" and "Sweep" from Michael Mann's "Miami Vice," the band released their first 7" via Moshi Moshi Records and their first, self-titled debut album was released shortly thereafter. Their songs have also appeared on the TV series "The O.C.," "So You Think You Can Dance," "CSI:Miami," and "The Cleveland Show."
Noisey.com is the music channel from the makers of VICE. So you know its going to be good. And fun. The shows are about anything and everything concerning music—the best live jams, geeky record stores clerks, smarmy critics, boob-flashing fans, destroyed hotel rooms, and roadies. Never underestimate the roadies. The Noisey Youtube channel made its debut in February with M.I.A.'s "Bad Girls," and VICE-produced
A$AP Rocky video, "Wassup." Since then the channel has racked up loads of online content with everyone from
David Lynch to Odd Future. On YouTube, Noisey offers music fans the most extensive slate of original online music programming to date, covering not only the artists that matter most, but the trends and opinions that make up today's music culture. See for yourself: youtube.com/noisey
